Who We Are

The Agriculture, Wellness, and Ecology (AWE) Program is an initiative of the Keney Park Sustainability Project and represents more than 20 years of community-based work in Hartford. Rooted in listening, relationship-building, and collaboration, AWE reconnects communities to land, food, and nature through experiential, community-informed learning.

What We Do

We co-create land-based programs with community partners that integrate agriculture, ecology, and wellness. Through workshops, field trips, community partnerships, and pop-up events, participants build practical skills in sustainable food systems, environmental stewardship, nutrition, and mindfulness, all grounded in access, dignity, and lived experience.

Where To Find Us

AWE is based at the Urban Agriculture Education Site in Hartford’s historic Keney Park, with programming delivered in partnership with schools, nonprofits, and community institutions across Connecticut.

When We Operate

Our programming runs seasonally, following cycles and community needs, with workshops, youth programs, and special events throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

By The Numbers

We are proud to engage with community and share data on how we impact the lives of citizens with programs for their wellbeing.
